- Dr. McFarland has dedicated his career to learning the latest techniques in cataract and refractive surgery. He has undergone extensive training in refractive surgery and is fully accredited to use the Autonomous and VISX Laser Systems, which allowshim to treat almost any refractive error. He is a fully trained laser vision correction surgeon with specialized expertise in cataract surgery.
- Dr. McFarland began his career with Kaiser Permanente in 1990. He served as the Chief of Ophthalmology for Kaiser Permanente South Sacramento from 1990 to 1996. He currently serves as the Assistant Chief of Ophthalmology and Director of Refractive Surgery for Kaiser Permanente Sacramento. In addition, Dr. McFarland is the Associate Medical Director for Vision Service Plan (VSP).
