Background
- Douglas S. Holsclaw, MD, is one of the leading surgeons in The Permanente Medical Group, specializing in corneal surgery, diseases of the eye, and laser vision correction. Dr. Holsclaw was one of the founders of the Laser Vision Correction Center at UCSF Stanford Health Care and has been performing surgery since 1993. He is currently one of the national investigators for the Nidek Second Generation Excimer Laser, as well as one of the national Medical trainers for ophthalmologists on the VISX Star Excimer Laser.
- Currently the Director of Cornea and External Disease, Uveitis and Corneal Transplantation Services at Kaiser Permanente Redwood City, Dr. Holsclaw also maintains a clinical academic appointment at UCSF Stanford Health Care and continues to teach, perform research and lecture nationally.
- Dr. Holsclaw is board-certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and by the American Board of Ophthalmology. His clinical expertise is built upon his work as a full-time faculty member at UCSF Stanford Health Care as part of the Cornea and Refractive Surgery Service Team.
